Sometimes, it’s fun to just let chance decide what’s on the agenda for the day.

A deck of cards can keep you home playing solitaire or be the catalyst for random adventure. Using materials as simple as index cards and a few colorful markers, you can make a deck of the people you like to spend time with, the places you like to be, and the things you enjoy doing. Then, figuring out what to do on a beautiful day is as simple as pulling a few cards from the stack and following their lead. Think of the cards as prompts, and use them to craft a specific activity. 

If you prefer the size, shape, and weight of a traditional deck of cards, simply paint over the imagery in the center of each card, and replace it with your own words and/or images. If that sounds tedious, use a piece of tape instead of paint. There is literally no right or wrong way to do this. Here is an example deck of 52 cards. Adapt as needed:
