Listening closely to something you’ve heard over and over often reveals new layers of meaning. As they say, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Lol.
Call to mind the following images:
- A simple black and white image of a chalice, that when looked at carefully, becomes two people facing each other, profile to profile, silhouette to silhouette.
- A color photo of a flower that, on closer inspection, has an ant and a ladybug walking past each at the flower’s base, passengers on the same highway traveling in opposite directions.
- An oil painting of a person lying on their deathbed surrounded by family. Hands are held. Heads are bowed. The air is filled with tension and grief and anxiety and loss. Standing by in perfect peace, unseen by anyone, are two angels watching and waiting for the beautiful moment of release and the end of all suffering.
Think about all the mysteries swirling around you at this very moment. There are sounds on the wind that your dog can hear but that you cannot. Doesn’t it stand to reason that there may be things you cannot see or touch that exist alongside you as well?
